Studio 21 Meets Sailor Jerry Rum

On Sunday, November 21st, 2010, Studio 21 Tattoo and Sailor Jerry Rum  joined forces to put on the Sailor Jerry Tribute & Art Show at our studio in Las Vegas, NV. A mock drive-in documentary was projected on our exterior wall featuring the “Hori Smoku” film exploring the roots of American tattooing as seen through the life of Norman “Sailor Jerry” Collins. Artists from all over submitted artwork honoring the classic father of tattooing, Sailor Jerry’s timeless style of art and tattooing. The art show will be on display through the end of the month in our studio. Along with the art show and screening there was a car show and charity raffle benefitting Adaptive Action Sports, a non-profit organization that promotes action sports camps, events and programs for young adults living with permanent physical disabilities (http://adacs.org/). Sponsors donating items for the raffle included Sailor Jerry, Studio 21 Tattoo Gallery, Element Skateboards and local Arcs Salon in Mandalay Bay Casino. Last, but not least was all the fun we had eating gourmet sliders served curbside from the infamous “Slidin Thru” local food truck vendor (slidinthru.com). Lets not forget…to wash it all down was the free tasty Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum. The ever so generous bartenders were busy pouring 5-6 samplings of Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum cocktail concoctions to spread the word on this yummy cane spirit. Check the website for more delicious recipes. (http://www.sailorjerry.com/index.php/rum/recipes). The weather was a little challenging at the beginning of the event, despite the heaters provided, but all in all, things went really well. We would like to thank all our sponsors once again. It was a fun night of celebrating the history and culture of tattooing, the love of all things rum, and many thanks to all our locals and clients who came down for this event. We are looking forward to working with Sailor Jerry on many events to come, you guys were so on point and very professional, but mostly, a kick to throw an event with. A big thank you to Erin, the Nevada Rum Ambassador and Gaston, brand ambassador. Until next time…cheers!
